F.A.Q.

1) Does Complete Pest Solutions use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) pest control methods?
Complete Pest Solutions utilizes Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as a core process for planning and taking steps that will prevent or control pests.  Our IPM programs assists us in: recognizing conditions that could lead to pest problems, preventing pest problems from starting, reducing pesticide use, reducing environmental and health risks, preventing pests from building pesticide resistance, and producing long-term solutions to pest control problems. We employ all aspects of Integrated Pest Management (IPM): physical and/or mechanical methods (pest removal), cultural practices, biological methods, genetic methods and chemical methods.

2) Does Complete Pest Solutions comply with all municipal bylaws? Yes, Complete Pest Solutions supports full compliance with all laws and regulations for Landscape and Structural Pest Control.  We are governed by, and in compliance with:

The Bees Act

Environmental Protection Act ( Ontario)

Ontario Water Resources Act

3) Does Complete Pest Control utilize green control techniques and products? Absolutely yes, wherever possible and to support compliance with Integrated Pest Management best practices we utilize exclusion, sanitation and cultural techniques to manage pest activity and to prevent future infestations.  We also use a variety of  lower risk products to control pests when they will achieve the necessary results.  We frequently use products such as:

Corn Gluten Meal – a by-product of corn that
prevents the germination of dandelion and crabgrass
seeds. Does not control established weeds.

Acetic Acid (horticultural vinegar) – stronger
than household vinegar. Kills weeds on contact.
Works best on younger weeds.

Soap/Fatty Acids – for control of either insects
(insecticidal soap) or weeds (herbicidal soap). Fatty
acids in soap affect the cells of plants and insects,
causing death.

Nematodes – microscopic-sized worms that
attack most types of grubs in the soil.

Pyrethrum/Pyrethrins – a toxin made
from pyrethrum daisies. It is effective against
a wide range of insects.

Sulphura naturally occurring element that
controls fungi by preventing the germination of
fungal spores.

Diatomaceous Earth – also known as Silicon
Dioxide. A powder made from crushed fossils of
marine organisms. Each particle has tiny, sharp
edges that kill many types of insects.

Borax/Boric Acid – a white powder mined
from deposits in the earth. Boric acid attacks
the nervous system of insects.

Mineral/Horticultural Oil – coats and kills
insects growing on the plant. Caution: may also
kill beneficial insects.

Bacillus Thuringiensis (Bt.) – a naturally
occurring bacterium that attacks the digestive
system of insects.

4) How long will I have to leave my home?
The length of time depends upon the type of pest and the treatment action taken.  Some treatments do not require the residents to leave their home, while other treatments require a minimum of 4 hours until re-entry.

5) Do you provide treatment preparation information?
Yes, comprehensive treatment preparation instructions and checklists are provided to all residents prior to treatment so that we work together to achieve the best possible results.

6) How soon can treatment begin?
After a thorough inspection including pest identification and appropriate customer communication treatment can begin immediately.  Our trucks are fully equipped to handle most issues including routine exclusion with caulk or steel mesh or copper wool.

7) Are discounts cumulative?
Yes, if you qualify for any discounts they are cumulative.  Example: A senior Canadian Military Veteran obtaining grub control on his/her lawn would receive a total discount of 45%.

8) Do you offer free estimates?
Yes, estimates and advice are always free.

9) Does Complete Pest Control offer Odour Control and Washroom Care Services?
